This study examines the trajectory of democratic consolidation in Liberia over the decade following the 2005 elections. Drawing on survey data, elite interviews, and archival research, the paper argues that while institutional frameworks have been established, deep structural challenges to democratic deepening remain.
Analyzing gender representation in Liberian legislative and executive institutions between 2006 and 2023, this paper identifies structural barriers to women participation and evaluates the impact of gender-sensitive electoral reforms.
This ethnographic study investigates the relationship between traditional leadership institutions and modern local governance structures in five rural counties of Liberia, examining legitimacy, jurisdiction, and collaborative governance.
